Remke Verdegem (she/her) started her career teaching Dutch language and literature at
high schools but has been working in IT since 1989. In 1998 she joined the IT department of
the National Archives of the Netherlands as application portfolio manager. In 2014 she got
involved in implementing the agile way of working and was appointed ProductOwner of the
e-Depot of the National Archives.
Furthermore, Remke is heavily involved in the LGBTI+ community. Since 2015 she has been
giving guest lectures on sexual and gender diversity at high schools and in 2020 she joined
the board of Transgender Netwerk. Since January 1, 2023 she is the chair of this Dutch
foundation, that is committed to the emancipation of transgender, non-binary and
genderdivers people.
