Dietrich Moerman
Description

Dietrich tells a personal tale of being a former software engineer with ADHD, what he learned as a software development team lead, and how he could apply the same Agile & Lean techniques in his personal life. With this keynote, people become more aware of their neurodivergent colleagues, how they may have personal struggles, and what can help them and the team overcome this. Next to that they also learn how fostering neurodiversity and psychological safety brings in valuable skills that allow software development teams to build even better products and services with more creativity and innovation. Introducing five guiding principles for software development teams, Dietrich shares practices and tips that help both teams as well as neurodivergent team members to become more resilient and productive. These practices, based on Agile & Lean principles, improve the long-term happiness and well-being of the (neurodiverse) team. Finally, an agile and ADHD-friendly approach for achieving personal goals is introduced. Attend the session if you want to learn more about ADHD or neurodiversity in combination with software development, and how you can improve your life as a developer with ADHD.
