Do agile practitioners really fail to deliver results? Do they truly not understand the business? I believe there’s some truth in that statement. Look, over the past few years, I’ve seen how many colleagues were laid off, how people questioned us, how entire transformation areas disappeared, how we were put on display in the town square to be stoned. You probably saw it too. So I started thinking: did none of us really work? Were we all living in a dream, where only we could see the results? And truthfully, as I observed layoffs, I also noticed that great things were being done. The issue was that we simply didn’t know how to show them, we weren’t sure whom we should show them to, or we ended up accepting our fate and just leaving the company. But to me, there’s a great opportunity to step up our game, elevate our craft, move beyond naiveté, and reach the spaces where decisions are made.
Simply by learning how to present your results, your metrics—whatever it is you’re doing. It doesn’t matter if you’re new or if you have experience, whether you’re an Agile Coach or a Scrum Master, this will help you raise your game. I have a three-step method that helps you know what to show, to whom you should show it, and how to show it. That’s all for now. You’ll see the rest in my talk.
P.S. This is so simple and logical that you’ll wonder: Why didn’t I do this before?
