The use of agile delivery methods that involve multiple stakeholders as well as empowered teams can introduce additional complexity and variability in the decision- making process. Whilst effective group decisions are important for the successful delivery of software, group decision-making within the agile context has received relatively little attention over the years. This paper outlines the group decision-making process as well as issues such as groupthink and individual biases that can impact decision-making within an agile delivery context. The concepts underlying Applied Critical Thinking are introduced and short experiences are provided where these techniques have recently been applied within the change delivery function. The paper presents the value of these techniques and the benefits derived in their application to the agile delivery of organisational change.
