20 years ago I joined a software team at the UT Austin as a baby graphic designer. I meandered my way through a ton of roles from QA, to tech writer, to Product Manager, and finally was asked to ScrumMaster a team. After monumentally failing at that first attempt I made it my mission to do everything in my power to grow in that role and the potential impact I could have on the team and the my company as a whole. I spent the next 15 years soaking up every bit knowledge and experience I could get my hands on while using what I'd gained before to build empathy. I made it my mission to become a trainer that could help folks learn the connection to reality and why behind the things they were doing and a coach that could truly help teams come together to build awesome things. 8 years ago I became a mom and that only added to my perspective. Every response. Every breath. Every lesson. Every pause. I can't separate the mom from the coach from the trainer so I won't. I'm better because I'm all 3.
