IT Can be Done - Product Centric thinking and practices for IT
Description
CHANGE: The only constant in life is change. It can be scary when you learn that your company or organization wants to change the way you think and practices you use. They start using terms like Product vs Project, Product Centric thinking, and Product operating model, Product development, Product teams, and Product ownership. You begin to Google these terms and find a multitude of results that include definitions, books, and websites. There is so much information to digest and you think to yourself, “it would be so much easier if I could hear firsthand how this has been implemented in other organizations, ask questions, and learn from peers from all over the world.” You can! In this session you will learn the benefits of shifting to a Product Centric mindset. You will hear the value and learn methodologies on topics such as how to define a product, the roles and best practices needed to operate in a Product Centric organization, and methods for sustainability. You will hear examples of how a Product Centric Operating Model was implemented in a large corporation and lessons learned. This workshop will offer exercises and learnings that will ignite your passion for Product Centric thinking and provide you with tools that you can leverage once you leave the conference.
