I Dare You to Lead - How Vulnerability Creates Courageous Leadership
Jolene Jangles Danna Mokamba
Description

In agile organizations we strive to lead organizations that celebrate failure, foster transparency, and build courage. We focus on making people safe, and then wonder why people don't take risks. To build and lead courageous organizations we need people to embrace vulnerability NOT safety. As agile leaders, we often don’t have the skills to demonstrate these daring and courageous traits. Join us in this session where you will learn to rumble with vulnerability and find your courage and new daring leadership stances! In this workshop you will learn and practice tools developed by Dr Brené Brown and her research. The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. Together, we will build foundational skills which enable us to take down the armor we use to shield our emotions, embrace vulnerability, and allow us to approach leadership in brave and daring new ways. At the end of this session you will demonstrate your own courage, and leave with the tools to introduce and scale daring leadership (and the courage that goes with it) in your organizations.
