Name
Using Clean Language and Emotional Literacy to Catalyze High-Performance
Sarah Baca
Description

Brené Brown’s latest research uncovered that emotional literacy is the key to unlocking a rich life where we can do our best work. The lack of these skills limits our effectiveness, makes us miserable and leads us to misunderstand one another. In this workshop, we will practice Clean Language to get curious about each other’s emotions and the structure behind them. Clean Language, inquiring without bias, is vital because how we express emotion can change dramatically from person to person. My quiet withdrawal might be the same intensity for me as my colleague shouting or swearing. We can find ways to use our emotions as highway signs that direct us to keep going or to change directions.
