Three Scary Coaching Situations
Damon Poole
Description

Coaching can be scary! When you are coaching, you may sense that a session has gone off track, but decide not to interrupt to avoid being rude. You may sense that a team is not living up to their own expectations of themselves, but decide not to challenge them to avoid being pushy. You may get a hunch but decide not to act on it because you fear your hunch might be “wrong.” What if you could have provided focus when it was needed, encouraged accountability or sparked a brilliant insight? Dare to: * interrupt a coachee that appears to be going off-track by encouraging them to assess if they are making progress towards their goal — you will provide focus when needed * challenge a coachee within the context of their stated goals — you will encourage their accountability. * offer your intuition without attachment — you may spark a brilliant insight. Starting from a set of scenarios, we will crowdsource a broad spectrum of approaches for interrupting, challenging, and offering intuition. This will give you options to balance the risk you are willing to take relative to the opportunity.

This session will NOT be recorded. Attendance is first come, first serve.

This session will be delivered on Zoom.
