.Let us seek to enhance our understanding of what Scrum actually is, according to the definitive source material – The Scrum Guide. One day I found myself looking for this understanding when faced with the confusion of the varied opinions regarding how to use Scrum, both in online writing/talks and in different teams in which I worked.
In this session we explore what surprised me when I read the Scrum Guide after working in Scrum teams for 10 years, what important changes were introduced in the most recent guide and what common ideas regarding Scrum I found to have not originated in the Scrum Guide and therefore might be described as misconceptions.
Disclaimer: I am a mere developer so I only “use” agile for a living, I don’t “do” agile for a living – so these thoughts may not be as refined as those of the professional Agilists in the audience, I still have more questions than answers on the topic.
